That Snow Clad Mountain

No one can measure my love for mountains. I am simply fascinated by those colossal objects. The serenity, the peace, the quiet, the mountain houses, the mountain people and the welcoming environment is what makes them so attractive. I just cannot put in words my feelings which I get when I see the approaching mountains in the distance and as they start getting bigger, I go speechless and try to take in as much the view as my poor eyes can.

Anyway, here is the picture of a snow clad mountain I took in April 2010 when I went to the Northern areas. I literally got images of this view in my head for days. The chains of green mountains and then one, majestic, snow clad peak. Our tour guide told us that snow clad mountain is in Kashmir. Kashmir, a place I long to visit. The place where I took the photo from is a little above the Neelum River, a river which flows in to Kashmir in the Neelum Valley, so we were, in a way, standing opposite to that heavenly place.

Writing it down, I don’t think I’m as expressive as I wanted to be. Looking through the binoculars, I could see that snow clad peak more clearly, alluring the onlooker towards the beauty it is holding, standing solidly, with a sort of a silent authority, enough to leave me crippled with a desire to reach there!
