Dream

Dream is the most fascinating thing in the world. Even the name "dream" implies a great insight to the meaning. Usually when we talk about dream, we take the meaning of our aims and ambitions which we perceive to be able to achieve one day. But these are the dreams we visualize ourselves and here I'm talking about the dreams of the sub conscious, in simple words, what we see in our sleep. We never really pay attention to dreams, we wake up and we forget it, even if our dream was startling or nightmarish. But this is not much of a big deal as dreams have nothing much of an importance or impact on our real lives and so we tend to forget.

But has it ever crossed your mind that if dreams are totally unrelated or irrelevant then why we dream in the first place? why cant we simply have blank minds during our sleeps? Why is it that a considerable portion of people in the world take their dreams seriously and try to interpret them? Why is it that volumes and volumes of books are written on dream interpretations? For some time now, I've been pondering a lot over my dreams and am fascinated by what i infer. There is this one simple fact that mostly we dream about situations of our real life and especially the ones which either leaves a deep mark on our minds or which are shoved in the farthest corner of our mind, being either trivial or us not wanting to consider it.

But the way these situations come forward in our dreams is what is intriguing but the most intriguing images and scenes are the ones we have never really watched, read, heard or experienced. Then there is a type of dream that shows us our wishes, made into a situation that we find pleasing and the type in which our fears are turned into a likely situation, making us feel bad for a bit after waking up. Dreams can bring out our wildest imagination like once i dreamt about a whole plot which was not a bit similar to any of the movies I've ever watched but waking up i was revising what seemed to be a perfect story for a movie. Some of my dreams boggles me much when i try to interpret it or to find a reason for it.

There are some dreams which we forget as soon as we open our eyes and there are some which we remember even after so many years. Like once in my teen years i dreamt about a staircase of an ancient building whose steps were encrusted with colorful gems and the boundaries were lined with pure silver, and i remember this dream quite clearly up till now. The rarest kind of dreams are the ones which repeat. Though most people would disagree to this statement but this much observation is possible for someone who pays attention. The places we travel in our dreams, the fictional characters we meet, the deja vu dreams, the angelic and devilish situations, all are the major categories of dreams. Then there are situations in our dreams which present our deepest wishes in the most easy way, which, though highly unlikely to occur in the real world but not impossible. And these are my favorite kind of dreams!

  1. Honestly,I was expecting something a bit more spicy.....I think that instead of describing what a dream is, you should try to write something catchy.
